Hagiography of the Virgin Mary
and
The Saving Works of Christ
This book presents in detail the Hagiography of the Mother of God, the Theotokos, starting with her parents, Saints Joachim and Anna, from conception to her falling asleep, Dormition. Since a biography of the Mother of God is intertwined with the bodily Incarnate life of our Lord, God, and Savior, Jesus Christ's earthly ministry, and the Bible chronologically faithfully recounts the saving works of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Gospel; he interprets for us their significant spiritual meaning and their relationship to the Lord's saving provision for us. In its narrative of the biography of the Mother of God and the saving works of our Lord, the book also focuses on the teachings we receive from the Church's Tradition of the Holy Fathers that are not mentioned in the Bible, as well as from the liturgical texts clarifying the teachings in their Troparions and prayers.
The writer, Protopresbyter Father Alexandros El-Far, addresses all these topics in his simple style and easy language, supporting his education through his personal experience during his life and Ministry in Palestine with his historical knowledge that is unparalleled today.
The book was printed on the recommendation of the applicant, the priest Father Alexandros El-Far (Iskandar) before his repose, and was published with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Saba Esper, Archbishop of New York and Metropolitan of the Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of Antioch in North America.
